When asked “What is the fundamental constant principal?” Ancient Chinese Zen Master Yantou answers “moving.” Here is a Dharma talk I gave at the Village Zendo on March 10, 2016. Not only is this talk a futile attempt at discovering the meaning of the koan “Ruiyan’s Constant Principal,” but it is a description of my move from New York City to where I live now in Catskill New York. Haunted by the voice of Marie Kondo, author of “the life-changing magic of tidying up” I tried to get rid of some of my stuff. Here is the talk in it’s entirety, 18 minutes.

“Got to move!” This was a great and inspiring talk! I am about to move for the first time without my parents this summer, and I think I will keep your wise words in mind. I will only take with me the things that bring me joy. Some of these will be material, and others in my mind. Thank you Musho!
