Kaela “Holiday” Japanese Pop Music Picnic Mat – Rodney Art

In 2017 I was asked to do the CD album artwork for Japanese pop star Kaela Kimura for her new single “Holiday.”  I met Kaela while I was in Japan in 2015 and she told me she was a fan of my Parappa and Thunder Bunny characters. She also knew my illustration work from Family Mart and Puffy Ami Yumi. She is a lovely person and matches the upbeat energetic pop that she is famous for. You can hear the single on Apple Music and other streaming services.

I was given a few copies of the CDs which I have signed. There are three combinations:
1. CD only
2. CD and DVD (in one jewel case) DVD is a live tour documentary
3. CD and printed picnic mat (Often Japanese record companies would create some merchandise and package it along with the music Cd. Usually it was a t-shirt – but for this album they printed my cover design on a woven plastic mat. Mat is 21.5 x 35 inches) No DVD is included in this very rare item.
